Went into my MB dealer to get new wipers. parts guy presents wipers (3) for £45!

"I have Service -Plus, so no charge"

Disappears, comes back, "Thank you sir that will be £35!"

"Sorry you don't understand there should be no charge. All wear items are covered!"

"Erm! I've not seen this card before, I'll check with the Manager"

"Thank you, sir you will need to book the car in and have the service tech change the wipers. There will be no charge!" :D

Service plus on my car is out of reach for me, mind you if I do not replace the wiper blades in the next 10 years, I will be out in front :)

serice plus

Malcolm,

When you say out of reach, are you saying your car is too old/MB wont give you service plus? I have asked for a quote on my Nov 2003 SL 350 and have been quoted £69.51 + vat per month with first 3 months not covered ( probably as Im up for a service within that period) in spite of it being out of warranty for 14 months. So far full FSHMB.

Hope this helps if you want it:)

Thank you for the info, In my case it was about £120 a month when I asked, and for me its not worth that.

I think that the first 3 months are not covered as its an easy way for them to find out if you have a problem on the car

3 months is standard exclusion so people don't join to cover an imminent cost
