Interested in getting one of the earlier models C class as a daily run about and was wondering what there like as in fuel, servicing, any problems, are the autos the best box?, etc

Any feed back welcome

Thanks Nath

Cracking motors, mate. Had one for a month now and its defintely the most comfortable car I've had.

Only think is my 250Td is not the most fuel efficent (for a diesel). I think the Cdis are a bit better but I think in general the C class Merc is not really the one if fuel consumption is VERY important.

In terms of servicing. not experienced it yet. Worryingly I've heard some bad reports and I don;t think servicing is the cheapest you could have....

Cheers guys. I guess I'm looking at a 180/200, but trying to find one is another thing. I had a look at one in Henley the other day but it was too rusty and the next one was so standard I almost bought a Mondeo to out spec it....

The prices seem to be all over the place at the moment

I have had my C180 Elegance for just over a month, fantastic. Find one with a spec that you like, the elegance is great. Mine only has the 1800 engine, I was at first worried that it would be underpowered...........no, its great !
