Hi
I am new here. I have a 2000 CLK and I am after a body kit for it. The one I am after is in my avatar, but I will also try to put it on this thread. Any help gratefully received, thanks Simon.

The car in question is a CLK DTM AMG (I think). Not sure where to get a kit from though, someone here no doubt will :)

Hi there,

Your car is a w208 CLK and the DTM you show is a W209 CLK ...

Not sure if you'll be able to get hold of the kit to be honest.

You trying to make your 208 into a £180k clk dtm ??????
Ricer springs to mind.

First and foremost, a disclaimer... as Howard mentioned your car and the CLK in question are different generations (i.e. different body shapes). That said, you might find a DTM replica bodykit here: (you will have trouble fitting a bodykit designed for the new shape on an older merc though)

There also was a Japanese company, VITT that did OTT bodykits... they might not be DTM kits, but they might spark your fancy... A full kit will set you back about £5,000 + shipping + VAT + fitting/painting. (www.vitt.jp or something similar) ( http://www.jonari.com/brand.php?bid=2&makeid=5&modelid=57&id=54 )
(EDIT: found them...
http://www.vitt.jp/Aero/CLK_W209-swe/W209-swe.html - this is the kit for the new generation CLK
http://www.vitt.jp/Aero/CLK_W208-fk/W208-fk.html - and this is their edition for the older CLK... )

but frankly, I doubt you will have much luck - there just isn't a big enough market of people looking for an aftermarket DTM bodykit... AMG, Brabus, lorinser... maaaybe.

IMHO, if you are really set on that, you may need to get moulds done and get it copied off... The reason I say this (but I'm sure I will get corrected) is that I strongly doubt DTM use a "bodykit" - I'm more inclined to believe they just replace the standard CLK panels with their own, custom shaped (and probably custom material) panels... I strongly doubt they go the bondo route...

Either way, good-luck and keep us informed on your progress.
Michele

P.S. welcome to the forum ;)

Be interesting to price up the DTM panels ;)

You reckon Inchcape do them ? :D

Many thanks for the bits of info, I am now trying to sort something out with Jonari, but they say if I buy direct from VITT that the basic kit is only £710.00 + delivery and tax, so we will see.

Spoiled my day there Nick ....

I really like that :o how much is the kit and where from ?

Now thats got the juices flowing. Do you know where I can buy this kit and any other details, cheers??????????
