Hi folks,
Right todays plan was to travel upto Crail raceway with my Mini for the Retro cars day, but weather was looking a bit rubbish and I couldn't really be bothered with the 3 hour round trip (Long distance in Mini = sore bum). Anyway, seen a local vintage rally advertised at Paxton house near Berwick upon Tweed, so decided to pop down for a wee browse. It was pretty disappointing to be honest. Consisted of a max of 10 tractors, horribly restored Land Rovers, Moggy 1000s, Anglias etc. A few vehicles did catch my attention however, the main one being this lovely old 124 coupe (pics at bottom of page). I was told by the owner it had new wings and a respray recently, wasn't too bad a job. Had only 66k on the clock with a good service history, and an immaculate interior. Was by far the best car at the show, I dont even want to know how much he spent on it :p Was also a Dimma bodied Peugeot 205 GTi which took my fancy as im bit of a French car nut aswell :ban:

Wait - 220CE? I thought it was either E220 ('94- ) or 230CE (-'94) but it's in lovely condition and I really wish mine looked like that! You never know, it might have had some restoration work done since I had it. The indicators are clear on this one so I think it's either a tinkered pre-facelift or more likely a post-facelift which should have the E220 badge. </perfectionism>

Had a quick wee look into this, apparently the 220 CE was built between '93 and '94. But also done a car check on this particular one and it comes up as a '96 model. Unless ive made a mistake of when they were produced :dk: Yeah it was really nice, a few tiny imperfections in the paintjob but still very nice.

The new multivalve petrol engines arrived just early enough to appear in some pre-facelift cars so there are a few 220TE, 280TE and 320TE models floating about. I assume the same is true with the Coupes

I've never seen a pre-facelift with a multivalve diesel engine but I bet there's one out there waiting to prove me wrong if I say they don't exist!

There are 220CE`s just like 220E and as said 220TE and from what I can work out they were early 93 till mid 93 but this car is not one,it`s just got the wrong badge
