A W100 with up to date mechanicals and interior would be simply superb.
I don't think the Maybach ever had enough road presence for the super rich. It was rather discreet compared to a Phantom and never had the brand cache of Rolls Royce.
Re the Maybach coupe, I'm sure a saw one of those in London in July wearing Qatar plates. I didn't realise it wasn't a factory product. I would have paid more attention to it and had a closer look if I'd known.
since Mercedes have 'gone retro' with models such as the SLS , I think a thoroughly modern car taking its styling cues from the W100 could easily be a winner .
