No SL For Me... :(

Give her the choice between the SLK or an Ariel Atom or a Radical SR3. That should make it a bit easier for her.
The Atom would be fine given concerns around size and parking...

...it's small AND you can see through it - parking doesn't get much easier than that!! :D

No room to fit the shopping in though...

However it would be quality to have one :D

The hot/short list:

A Mini Cooper S
Chrysler Crossfire
Lexus SC430
SLK 350
Porsche Boxster S
SL500 :D :D
A multi millionaire friend of mine bought a SLK55 this week

and has for sale a Boxter S 2000 20k miles and guaranteed to be the best one for sale in the UK it is mint, red with black inside. it has deflector, heated seats, computer, radio,CD, up graded sound and armourfend.
£16.500

Buy two cars and both get what you want. The you can both be happy. 4000 per year is not enough to warrant the kind of comprosie you're looking at making imho.

When we were buying cars we used to consider who the main driver was and as long as the other could drive it if necessary then that was the deal.

Personally I think looking to meet your OH's needs as the priority is being a tad unreasonable and sorry don't mean to offend. You are by far the main driver so should have the main say as you will spoend most time in it and therefore need to be comfortable etc. I do believe in accommodating each other where at all possible and as long as she could drive it in an emergency and vice versa then most cars take some getting used to. She needs to be challenged to be blunt.

Or as I suggest - get two. Get her a x-fire - they are cracking cars built on a sound foundation. Then you can have your SL.

Sorry guys if I wasn't clear... The car is for her not for me, but I'm paying the bills.

I'm not planning to change my C Class.

It is the Boxter S I can takes some pics tomorrow, this guy is 74 years old and has 4 high powered cars all mint and now wants a S class AMG

That would be great. If you have any details on the spec that would be great too.

Respect to him in large amounts..................:D

74 years young and still capable of destroying tarmac wholesale.............

Most gentlemen of that generation poodle around in two-tone turquoise Ford Anglia 105E's.

On someones suggestion I've been having a look at a few C4S's ... Seem to be a few good deals around the £30k mark...

The hunt continues...
