no uhi

i have just bought a used c240 elegance 2001 y reg and can't find the uhi for the phone. i've checked under the carpet in centre console, no luck is there anywhere else that it could be? as i'm being told they come factory fitted is this true? the car does have phone buttons on the steering wheel.

UHI phone kits were first introduced in 2003, if I remember correctly. So it can't be installed in a 2001 model.

If your car has a factory fitted phone kit, you should have the PSE in the boot, behind the trunkliner (right side).

Having phone buttons on the steering wheel do NOT guarantee that the car is being pre-wired for phone, or being delivered with a phone kit from factory!
