Noisy door mirrors

Hi all

Not sure where to post this so put it on here....sorry!

I have a 2003 E 270cdi avantgarde. My door mirrors make a squeeky sound when folding and unfolding....this noise is not apparent when it has been raining.

This leads me to think i need to lubricate the units but as far as i can hear and see it is the rubber that is making the noise. does anyone know of any lubricants to use on rubber? or any other suggestions except the stealership!

M-B used to reccomend something called OREL for treating door rubbers etc. Otherwise try some 'Back To Black' as it is actually a good lubricant - you can spray it onto a cloth then wipe it on to the rubbers - it also blackens them nicely !

You can buy silicone grease or spray oil from many suppliers.
Try Machine Mart, Maplin or SBA(Smiths Brothers Asbesdos).
