Hi All,

I recently bought an E coupe, W238.

The parking sensor wiring harness is broken. I have seen a lot of online non-OEM wiring harnesses for like £30-50, whereas the original Mercedes one is £250. Which I'm struggling to afford at the moment.

The sensors themselves will be original

Do you guys think there will be any difference in function? My thoughts are that it's just wiring so shouldn't really make much difference, except that it's probably more likely to break in the future.

Sorry if this has been discussed I used the search but it mainly comes up with people retrofitting parking sensors on cars.

Why is the harness broken ? can't it be fixed ? What bit is broken (there are 3 harnesses) - I'm surprised anyone makes a non-OEM one for the OEM system !

Hi Richard,

Thanks for the reply.

The car has minor bumper crash when I bought it on the passenger side. They then cut the wiring harness for some reason. Not sure why.

Anyway, I ended buying the OEM wire.

But for your interest or anyone else’s; these are the non OEM wires I was talking about:

2135405203, Black Flexible Parking Distance Cable Wearproof Front Bumper Wiring Harness for E-Class W213 W238 https://amzn.eu/d/5rd4iRq

Super curious if there’s any different ahaha

Wasnt sure if they were for active park assist, so I just left it.
