non runner w124 te

Hmm, tempting - certainly looks worth saving.

I'm considering another runaround W124 estate, looking to do some more jobs around the house and the last one was just so handy :)

Certainly looks the buisness, nice colour too !

Hmmm '91 on an H plate, but facelifted front and rear, non-standard back box (AMG?), AMG badge, possible sportline badging also

Perhaps a previous owner may have facelifted it completly because it looks to have a pre-facelift steering wheel the one without the airbag ?

'91 facelifted is right - the "slab sides" turned up in late '89/'90 (well I think so anyway)

If anyone is genuinely interested/is planning on bidding and wants me to go and have a look at it before the auction ends then give me a shout - it's only about 20 miles away from me

I think Dave means the faclifted front etc, newer bonnet/grille etc. I think that's from a few years later.

I am quite tempted, aside from the exhaust and the badging it's a clean looking car for that cash - decent spec with leather, air con, electric seats etc too.

How hard are the 300-24 heads to remove and replace?

Its going to need a re bore so the cost of the car, at the end of the day, is going to be £1000 (approx) plus the buying price. It may be worth sourcing another running engine.

Not that bad an idea ^^

Ian, I take it the reason the 300-24 is likely to need a rebore is the result of head gasket failure causing leakage into the cylinder and damaging it?

Sensible hat on this morning - I'll leave it!

Its got the E class faclift front, which first appeared in 1993.... seen it carried out to quite a few the earlier cars... looks odd with the H plate though! But defo makes a difference!

The exhaust ( although aftermarket ) exits on the wrong side of the car ....

Looking at the car from the back , TE exhausts exit on the left ....

I would imagine that its had a smash at some stage, hence the replacement front and non rusty front wings....if you go to the RAC vehicle check site, you can run off a HPI report for a mere £5.
