Northern gtg

Anyone up for a northern gtg? Nont Sarahs or Craven Heifer type affair? Towards the end of October (not 22/23rd tho as we're in Rome).

Or do we fancy another Clumber trip? Would only be day for us though.

I'd be interested in coming along to Nont Sarahs (not been up there in years!!) and I might even have a Mercedes by the end of October otherwise I'll be in the aged Toyota.

trip to Yorkshire is a possibility. Have to check if my visa is still valid though :D

I'm almost qualified for my residents Visa now as I've been living in Yorkshire for 15 years now, only another 10 years to go

Don't be saying that up here mate - you'll get lynched

It's a bit of a hot topic but the short version is that Saddleworth is in Yorkshire (West) but falls under the metropolitian juristiction (if I've not just made that up) of Oldham which as you know is a proper Lancy mill town.

I seem to recall that when there was such a thing as Greater Manchester County, Saddleworth came under that 'umbrella' but has never been part of Lancashire.

The Oldham address still comes up as part of Lancashire though, instead of Manchester which it really should be. Area I'm in comes under Oldham council but has a Manchester address.

A full on Chaddy lad I am :D

It seems we are looking at a proper Northern do here - so as we like to venture out and about and try things anew - how about somewhere up in the North Yorkshire Dales or even heading out towards the A66 towards Cumbria? Perhaps somewhere not too far from the M6 and A66?

Would you chaps be happy to go that bit further afield and might it pursuade some of our further North over the border members to join us?

If we're looking at the end of October for this one then I couldn't do a sleepover as we'll have only been to Rome the weekend before.

There is a nice pub on the A66 on top of the hills, can't remember what it's called but if you chaps are willing to go up that way I'll research out there.

I dont mean to sound stupid, I'm new to this forum, where is nont sarhas?

Not stupid at all.
Nont Sarahs is a pub on the A640 out of Huddersfield on the Rochdale road.

I have a feeling that wont be the venue for this one though, more likely to be on the A65 or A66

Welcome to the forum by the way....

Indeed Welcome - as the Kat says - more likely to be up A66 way this one, but you'd be very welcome. Our gatherings are always very friendly and very social affairs. Chances to look at and sometimes play with the cars ;) and also a chance for a natter, drink bit of grub and a good time all in all.

Keep an eye oon this thread and join us :D
