Well, my last few cars all came with the sunroof as standard. While I tend to agree that you don't open it much when driving, the extra light you get through the glass roof is very nice.

I tend to open it when driving slowly through an area of natural beauty (and turn the aircon compressor off via the EC switch), or when sitting waiting in the parked car.

So, certainly not an essential, I agree, but if in glass can be a nice extra.

If it's a non turbo you'd endlessly need to use third and forth just to get it to move, they're dreadfully slow cars...
