Hi All,
I'm new here so let me introduce myself and say hello.
I'm happy owner of w220 s320cdi 2005:)
London based with few obd scanners so if someone need help... Don't have a star unfortunately:(

Well, I've been on nearly every archive post to sort my problems but cannot find solution. Let me start from beginning.
I've bought car with gateway unit in trunk as previous owner lost it. No comments.
Radio on and then system unavailable. Ok. Boughten AGW from w211 as been told they are the same.
Radio works, brilliant, but satnav was stuck on position about 300 miles away. Showing Alt correctly and between 5-10 satellites.
As I spend few nights browsing groups for info I've got never map (2008?) and what a luck. Satnav managed to move to location only about 2 miles away. And was moving. Jumping more then moving but still. Then been tempted to download map 2012 of d internet and no improvement. I will even say: once I power satnav, insert disc it's finding position about 500 yrs away but not mowing at all. Marker spins around.
I've done reset by head unit, plugging power to nav unit few times. No luck.
I seen someone that could be skipping map is causing problem but doubt it as managed to get discs for 2005, 6, 7, 8, 9. And every disc is the same. Most common problem should be aerial but it clearly shows 10 satellites. I need to mention all discs been genuine (not copies) only last disc was bit ..;)
Tried nearly everything but still no luck.
I need to mention that audio/nav/clock is not working on speedo but as far I know speedo need to be coded to AGW.

Please please please. Advice me something as really like factory radio and don't want to get aftermarket.

Thanks,
B.

W211/W219/R171 AGW is not compatible with W220/W215/R230.

Sadly the latter AGW is considerably more expensive than the former (800 vs 500 RRP from memory although latter about 300 from more sensible sources, former is rare).

But it sounds like you may have a GPS antenna problem too.

Visit my colleague Alfie at Mercedes Retrofit Specialist - Comand.co.uk and he will sort out what is really wrong and a sensible price

Richard

Thanks Richard.
Managed to get A2208271142.
All works as it should. Looks like.
Aerial left as it was and seems to see between 7 and 12 satellites.
Thanks for advice.
