Ntg2.5 update

Hi I have an ntg 2.5 installed I'm my crafter, Alfie programmed it in a good while ago for me (cheers fellas).

Obviously it has the merc logo on startup, if I insert a VW rns5010 nav disc (rns5010 being the vw model no for the ntg2.5) is this likely to update said logo?

Is it likely to brick my unit?

I would expect it to just reject the disc as it wont be the correct disc for a MB unit. Also boot logo etc I wouldnt expcect to get updated from a map disc.

I know there used to be a method to change it to the AMG Variant but this does not seem to work on my unit.

Is ther any way I can modify this by directly accessing the HDD via pc? - Obviously without bricking my unit.
