Right, I've had a read of previous threads and the MAS sensor keeps popping up and is looking like a favourite, however my problems seemed to go away... so....
On the motorway, 65mph, in need of some brisk accelleration, queeze pedal, gearbox goes to 4th, foot then goes further to the switch on the floor, gearbox goes for 3rd but never makes it and goes back to 4th (essentially it 'blipped' the throttle).
Manouver over, gearbox goes back to 5th. Car then feels sluggish, and no matter what throttle position (including on the switch) it won't kick down.
Got to a roundabout, massive delay in throttle response. Nearly didn't avoid the big lorry bearing down on me
Stopped the car, into Park. I could put the throttle to the floor for approx 1/2 second and release and the revs woundn't rise. Tried a few times. Absolutley no throttle response. Turned car off then on again. Everything back to normal.
Rest of the drive home seemed fine.
Any suggestions, car is a 98 C240 Sport and has done 91k.
Cheers.
