Offset question

Hmmmm ...... getting expensive now ....

Is there any way i could run around on the 40 profiles for a bit , until funds had built up enough to replace all the tyres ?

Not ideal i know .

The ride height difference is only 2.5mm So I would use them until you need the 35s
 
If you don't win them, give me a shout, I've got a set being refurbed at the moment. Do the set for £375.
 
ET54 front and ET49 rear are correct for the W168 so why do you want to use spacers?

...because all the wheels in H's case have the same offset.

...more like 11.25mm. 225/40 has sidewall height of 90mm, but the sidewall height of 225/35mm is 78.75mm. This is significant.

Okay if it is 11.25mm then that is split in half making it 5.60mm approx.

11.25mm is 11.25mm. This is the height of the sidewall, I think you're confusing the sidewall with something else :)

The sidewall height of a tyre is relative to the profile and tyre width - hence 40% of 225mm is 90mm and 35% of 225 is 78.75mm.

An extra 12.5mm (half inch approx) all the way round, making the tyres 25mm taller than the other size.

...no, it's 11.25mm on each side. The total diameter of the wheel tyre combo will increase by 22.5mm.

Aspect ratio is expressed as a percentage of the tyres width. Thus the sidewall on a 225/40 tyre is 40% of the width. 225 X 40% = 90.
 
Try them out on the car first and the see what needs to be changed, Or have you not got them yet?
 
Didn't go for them in the end .

I already have a set of AMG's for it , and the potential cost of refurbing these new ones , new tyres , spacers , etc just put me off.
