Oil Cooler?

Hi, Just bought a second hand Mercedes, 2005 CLK on a 55 plate,
Obsidian black with an AMG bodykit, 69k. I never intended to buy another car but been on the lookout for one of these for ages so I had to have it.
Apologies to Kevin (aka GVM) for sending me some light coloured car polish as I have just bought a black car, sorry Kevin. It won't go to waste.
The following pictures are what I believe to be an oil cooler?, owned a couple of CLK's before and never seen this on one, so could any one tell me what it is.
Many Thanks.

On the V8 (and V6??) engines, the oil cooler is a block next to the oil filter. To me, it looks a bit like a metal paperback book.

I believe your photo is the power steering fluid cooler.

Ian.

That made me laugh because it is the sort of thing I would do! Hope you enjoy your new car and looking forward to the pictures. You'll be pleased to know that there is a much greater choice of products for black and dark paintwork than white…….

Hi Kevin, Pictures are coming, before and after I have cleaned it up, not that it's that bad, but you know how it is.
Terry.

Thanks for that you were quite right, it is the power steering fluid cooler - as was told by a Mercedes mechanic.
