Where abouts is the oil filter cartridge housing on my C220cdi? Any tips for removing DIY style? Thanks.

It's under the sound deadening cover. Just pull it off and the filter housing is visible.
Undo the nut with a large socket and allow to drain, replace filter and O rings then do back up, not too tightly.

If you're doing an oil change, its often easier to fill the engine back up through the filter hole

Is that the cover under the car? looking from the rear is the housing on the left side of the engine - jus want to check before I go crawling underneath!

im asuming your car is a 203 chassis.
the oil filter is under the engine cover 6 torx screws, or pull off type.
as your looking at engine from front, to your right at front top between head and egr diaphram is a black round plastick cover, the paper filter is in there,
you will need the remouval tool £8 dealer, less on ebay, good luck,..

found it! thanks, will have to go to dealer, a bit of an ordeal for a filter

..well it is tight on, bent my draper oil filter removal tool.

Try warming the engine up and then removing it (turn engine off though!)
