OIl Filter.

E300 TD 1999.

Could some one please tell me where the oil filter is on the above.
I have taken off the covers underneath the car but cant see it.

The filter looks like a drop in type with out an outer casing.

Oil Filter

The (engine) oil filter is under the bonnet. Right at the back of the engine.
Large black done shaped plastic, with a large hex on the the top, about 42mm I think.
It's very easy to change. Don't forget to change the seals and don't over tighten when refitting.

You need a 36mm six sided socket as a ordinary one tends to round the corners off and muller the cap.
MB do make one 606 589 01 09 00 , well thats the number that is on mine.
