Oil Leak on an A170 CDi (2003)

Just moved the car after two days resting, and found a few big spots of black oil on my drive...

1. what do you think could be causing it (stupid question!)?
2. how much do you reckon it would cost @ MB dealer to repair?

I only bought the car last Wednesday, 15th Dec, and wonder what Rights I have as a buyer, and if there's a 'Cooling Off' period?

I paid through PayPal for the motor!!

Could be bad news if you bought it privately.

Otherwise I'd be surprised if you didn't have SOME rights about buying a dodgy car from a dealer - though not sure what they are. Here's a useful link ...

Your question on how much it will cost to repair very much depends on what needs doing. Get it looked at first.

@SAFA, thanks so much for that link...most useful! I got it from a renowed Leicester motor dealer! Got in touch with the owner and he has said he'll pay 2/3rds of the cost of the repair by MB providing I can show proof of what's wrong! Quite frankly, from what I've read about the gearbox problems to come, I'd rather return the car and go for a 2005 model! It's like walking on egg shells atm...wish I'd discovered this forum before I bought it!

@BlackC55, got the car booked in for a Health Check at Eastbourne MB next week. They'll also steam clean and examine the leak, too!
