Hi took it (94 W124 300d OM606) for a spin this morning to see if what I have done so far has altered anything;
I noticed that when cruising at about 50mph the oil pressure drops to about 2 1/4 and when I stop at lights it drops to about 1 1/2. As soon as I toe the gas it shoots back up to 3 untill I start cruising again. Be it 30 40 or 50 mph it always drops to about 2 1/2 - 2 3/4. As I said when I apply the gas (put a load on the engine) it shoots back up to 3. Can anyone reccomend an oil additive to help clean up any sludge in the lines
Checked oil level - ok. Nice and clean no gunk or froth on the cap.
Checked Water resevoir - Clean no bubbles or oil

My other 300D doesn`t have the drastic differences, this is the reason I am concerned - the comparison
Should I be worried

Cheers

Change the oil, use the correct grade and see what happens. Don't use super-high-tech full synthetic - just use the grade MB recommends

Some 606s idle at 1, some at 2 and some higher. All pull 3 when revving

I work on the principle that if it was going to go bang it would have done so a long time ago

Oil pressure at idle is almost irrelevant as there isn't any load on the bearings. As long as it goes up when revved it should be Ok.
