(m271)Hi is there a timing setting on the oil pump gears i see a dot on each of the two gears that compresses the oil?what sealer should I use on the pump mating surface?

They are there to minimise wear.
When they are first assembled the dots line up. If the pump is reassembled the dots should line up again so that the same impeller teeth faces mesh again.
Can't help on the gasket buy I would use the slightest smear of a 'normal' gasket compound.
 
hi the marks are on both gear teeth so that they cannot mesh exactly ?what should hold the first gear from turning and not sliping from the balancer shaft ,was it meant to be an interferance fit because there is no keyway and only one bolt or am i missing something ?

Dont use sealer in the oil pump it should be a gasket. Some pumps you have to pack with petrolium grease to speed up oil pressure after strip down.But read you manual first as to the right way to put it back in.
 
should the gear in post 3 incircled in red be press fit or is it only the bolt that holds it?
