Hello all,
I am new to this forum and I wonder if people hang around that try to maintain their w220 theirself. Also I will try to learn things from other forum-users.:)

I have changed oil and replaced airfilters on several cars. So I decided to give my MB a look as well.

Am I right that for the (engine) airfilter I have to remove a cover that is fixed with 3 bolts with a strange head?
Oil filter seems only accesible when I remove an engine cover that is fixed with 3 Torkc screws?
Probably the 320CDI engine is totaly different than the petrol V-8. So I would really be looking for 320CDI info on this.

Kind regards

Hello Dieselman.
The oilfilter is under the cap that you describe. Quite similar as in my BMW.
But that cap is almost hidden by an engine cover. (the one that seems fixed by the 3 torkx screws.
By the way, I like your link to that exploded view. Can you find a similar one for the air filter?:)

regards

Air filter is item 8 here.

The Detali site has parts lists and diagrams for all Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and commercial vehicles, up to (we reckon) mid-2005. It's a Russian rip-off of the Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC).

Well, already more helpfull pictures.:)
Thanks for that.
Interesting they have a complete site with this.

When I go direct to the main site of this detali site I get to choose passenger cars, then it list a lot of models.
But when I choose one then it leaves just a blank page.
Is their site often showing these errors:confused:
