Hello.

i have just returned from Morocco this weekend, and what a country it is! Highly recommended.

I managed to grab a host of merc pics of cars from a bygone era.. a bit tattered, but they still last... love the w124, and w123/126s are in full swing too.

We stayed at the Noir d'Ivoire

Pretty much everywhere on the African continent is awash with old Mercs. A testiment to their durability.

Thats why Spinal should be using one on his trip.... but would he listen?

Not cheap that hotel.

our room was the Zebre:

again, highly recommended. The owner is a lady called Jill.

If you suggest that Dillan / Prina from London recommended you, she might work out a discount or some sort of deal.. she really is the most fascinating woman and business lady.

Hi.

I just saw your link to your gallery. I love you car.

I would love to get a photo of our w124s together some time.

I keep my car mainly at my place in TW1, but might take it out one of these weekend to Richmond/ Richmond park, when ever the sun decides to come out.

Would be good to say hi and get a dual member pic some time?

There must be serious numbers of 124s about

in Indonesia there are loads of saloons of all engine sizes pre and post facelift, usually in excellent condition.

No estates or coupes though.. Quite a few 123s and the odd earlier car..

W123's are very very popular in africa.. they are built to last and im afraid have shown themselves to be much easier to maintain than the W124...

Unfortunatey this is why so many W123's get stolen from the streets of London on a daily basis.

I once sold an old 4 speed manual W123 gearbox for £800 to someone in Africa.. He paid around another £350 to get it there... imagine the demand.

i have had notes left on several of my W114/5's and even got chased down the road by a couple of Africans trying to "stop me and buy one" in one of em. i started to think about buying one here, driving it to Africa as a holiday/adventure and selling it when i got there to pay for a flight back.

Our old Type 126 (380SE) was broken for spares last year.
I know that the engine (and possibly some other parts) went to Africa.

DID BMW BASE THE X6 ON THIS HUNK OF JUNK - lol
