Seems like there are two Bosch sensors, can't quite tell which is correct for my vehicle:

Bosch 0281006213
Bosch 0281006278

Pretty sure the ...278 version is correct, but happy to hear otherwise.

If you know the OEM part number go on AUTODOC or the like and type in either part number. In the description it should give you all the alternate numbers

Yeah they both say they’re compatible

Anybody know if MB is just rebranded Bosch, or is it worth the extra for MB?

I would hazard a guess that MB don’t manufacture these parts and simply source them from Bosch, Hella or whoever. If the part number matches, it’s more than likely to be the same part. I’ve had ‘genuine’ parts from Land Rover in a JLR box and they are still marked with the manufacturer- TRW or Lemforder or whatever.

It'll be rebranded. Bosch is one of the biggest suppliers of electronics to car manufacturers.

Yeah, I did look. Is that £28 inc delivery?

Well there's your bosch No 0280006025.
I have a local Bosch accredited diesel engine specialist in my town. I just picked it up, so no shipping. A couple of days to come in from Bosch so zero worried about counterfeit.

Car manufacturers really do rip us off by selling third party parts with their own logo on, for considerably more than said third party would ordinarily charge.

Crazy that the parts like this are cheaper for the jeep/Chrysler versions too (same MB engine)

on the other MB forum read a thread about this and several opted for Bosch part but later ended up replacing with genuine MB part! with the option of Chinese pattern about £20 Bosch £30-40 and MB original at £65 I just fitted original to my car today! all good so far.

I saw a few people speak of failures in Amazon reviews and some forums from googling, but who’s to say the same isn’t true for MB branded part…

Was wondering if anybody knew for sure!

That Bosch number comes up as this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-281-Manifold-Pressure-Sensor/dp/B00YCL5I28

So it's not quite the right number for the current Bosch range, at least. The Bosch replacement appears to be 0281006278, as in my original amazon link

That amazon link is for 0281006325

Don't use amazon for the info, use

I read of lots of differential sensors getting replaced, I'm sure they aren't all faulty. They are easy to test if with a Mityvac or equivalent.
I guess the problem is these devices are more expensive than the sensor itself.

Teddy my Indy said it’s best to get this particular part from Merc and not use the pattern parts as the “set up” is more generic than specific compared to the original one for the car.

The price has jumped to £81-85 everywhere for the MB version online, though I didn’t call up the dealer (I need it delivered as I don’t want to drive the car)

I ended up going with a Bosch from Amazon as it’s only £31… we’ll see
