Hello

Long time lurker, first time poster - I've started the wonderful oil cooler seal replacement job today and wondered if anyone has seen this before. The turbo seal (which I checked ~6 months ago looks like its been nibbled,! I don't have a picture of the deterioration as I think the seal rolled under the car when it got dark but will check in the morning). Also, the fins on the turbo look a little worse for wear, 3 with small sections missing; again all looked OK ~6 months ago when I took the bat wing off to check for leaks.

All thoughts appreciated, turbo coming off in the morning all going well,

Either some of the orange seal has been eaten by the turbo .
or I think I’ve heard that sometimes the inside lining of the inlet manifolds can breakdown and cause similar damage as shown in the picture ?

All going well, the manifolds will be off in a few hours and I can confirm!
