on ebay: 1994 e300 diesel

im no expert, and im sure someone will came back and say HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT blah blah blah

but here i go,

i recon 725 would be its ceiling

defo worth more as spares, the interior alone would bring around 350-400 and then there's the alloys, again 350 ish,

i know it would be a shame to break it but thats how i see it going, lets face it a ford mondeo diesel is a much better option for a general people wanting a 4 door family diesel saloon, not too many people want a 17 year old diesel.

with the right advert and some better photos it should fetch 1.5k, but with that rubbish ad probably near to 1k will what it will fetch.

looks a very clean multivalve 606 engine from the photo (quite rare) and also low mileage,.

it seems very low for such a spec, the only change I would do is retro fit the earlier grille, thats a car that with care could last another 20 years:(

You'd change the bonnet and lights ? it would cost more than the car is worth.

see i told you someone would make comment!

i wasnt saying the auction would end at exactly 725

look i really dont care how much this is worth and would never consider buying a old non turbo diesel that according to Mercedes enthusiast magazine and i quote "it is as sluggish as a diesel from the 1970's "

need i say more, infact if you want an honest opinion of how much i would pay for it then it would be a big fat ZERO

When I brought mine back from the previous it cruised easily and quietly at 75-85mph.Back home and on the daily run to work and back I formed an opinion this car was compromised performance wise. This was mainly due to the auto' box, in 4th at 30 mph in built up areas blunting the throttle response. Now I find manually dropping into 3rd on long (30 mph) gradients and generally using more throttle the car easily keeps up with traffic conditions/is more than adequate.I would say a new driver may have to alter their driving style to become comfortable with this particular car
