OOOp's More Tools

You need some dirt on those tools guys ;-)

I have more tool wipes/cleaner than would sink a ship [emoji56]

Seriously. I actually clean them after each use. I see it as part OCD and part best practise in double checking I haven’t lost a tool.

On the subject of tools....I was at an auction a few weeks ago, and came across those....anyone use this brand before? I bought them more for old times sake, as they were very popular when I was an apprentice, many moons ago !!! :D

This looks a nice complete set. Well done. I believe that Heyco are regarded as “good” quality. Maybe not the best but up there.

That said, I buy Halfords Advanced for most of my tools.

They are not the most expensive.

The warranty is a no brainer.

They rarely break and are comfortable to use.

Get a Halfords Trade card and they become fabulous value.

Today they were selling tray sets at “3 for 2”

I only bought them "for old times sake"...not even sure if they are still being manufactured in this day and age? LOL I agree with you about Halfords though, good quality at a good price. Plus they often have sales as well. I recently picked up a 6 tray box for €40... bargain !!!

Well thanks guys, I now have a severe dose of tool envy, the only cure for which is a trip to my local tool supplier!!
I will have to look through my book of handy excuses and pick out a suitable one for Mrs C.
I agree with the comments about the quality of Halfords Pro range, and I also have a local independent tool/fixings shop who sell Teng Tools which are also things of beauty.
Now where's my wallet and coat...

Hmmmm

Must have these. I need these. Can’t function without them.

WERA are brilliant tools and boy do they look nice?

There is a lot to be said for colour coded tools...no fooling around trying to sort out different sizes.

The snap on van was round by work today, i really fought the urge to buy shiny stuff :wallbash:

Very nice Bruce, my tool budget is shot at the moment after buying my new star diagnostic kit and the roll cab £700.00 in a month :( However undeterred and ever onward and upward, I have managed to sneak a genuine MB oil filter removal tool into the box. Having nearly filled the roll cab with all the stuff I had tucked away in my various hiding places, I now think I may need a three draw box between the roll cab and top box. Next budget due in November, fancy a light weight low entry jack to replace my rather heavy clarke two tonne job.

You've got a hair on the torx set Bruce. How did you allow that to happen?:D

Bruce your tool box is something to behold.

I nearly brought some WERA stuff from the screwfix exhibition this weekend all their tools did look really pretty.

However there wasn't much of a saving to be had though so when i got home and ordered a bergen T-grip torx set, two halfords advanced screwdriver sets using the trade card and a halfords torx screwdriver set, an LED rechargeble site light, large but cheap led torch for the glove box and at the exhibition i picked up a handy Teng tools combi spanner set for no other reason than it was £9.99 (i should have bought two) and i don't have any in the car.

Now i need a new tool box o_O

WERA make very high quality tools and have managed to introduce some really great design features into their stuff. It is very expensive. However the expense is justified by the product.

Teng make great socket sets and are certainly worth the money.

Well budget or no budget the tool purchases keep rolling in, I really need to try and sleep at night. Last nights little sortie produced a Sealey pick set and a 22mm six point snap on shallow socket to drive the MB oil filter tool........Help me Bruce...........!!!!! Why when I set out to buy a single 22mm socket did I buy a pick set...............:oops:???????????

I am absolutely the wrong person to ask this [emoji23]

I have zero control when buying tools. I always think “this is it, I won’t need anymore” but the very proximity of other tools sends me into a tail-spin and the buying starts again. I also have an irrational fear of empty spaces in a tool box. I have to fill it.

You guys should stay away from GarageJournal for as long as you can. Your tool addiction will only get worse if you don’t.
