Car is just bought, should the (indie) dealer do anything towards it or is it buyer beware or should they sort it no quibble.

The corrosion and the seal I need an input on - Im not sure if at this level (£12k) from an indie (Not MB) it should be expected

I don't know I'd expect something like that to be sorted regardless unless they've pointed it out to you and you've accepted it.

Door looks like it need realigning too.. chrome strips aren't level.

I'd consider that acceptable on a used car, especially one 5+ years old.

If it bothers you, replace it. I'd not expect the dealer to be accountable.

Ive ordered the trim rubber (£72!) and my local bodyshop says he can do it next week so Im not losing sleep over it I was just after opinion as I havent been in this situation for years.

Quick update, MB Chester say within 8 years on a CL it shouldnt be a problem but it obviously needs an inspection, however it HAS to have the V5 which I dont have as yet - so not too shabby (so far)

Part exchanged it and they have it for sale now, I miss the cvt gearbox it was very smooth and makes the 7g in the CL feel quite brutal even though it's a smooth shifter. Shame it didn't sell as it was a sorted car

Rust claim as in pic above accepted by MB with no hassle at all - in on the 19th for a rear wing spray - will show result
