Option 537 DAB Radio

Hello

I have a 2008 E320 cdi Sport which is my first Mercedes and this is my first post.

I bought from an independent garage so I am doing some investigation in to the car's history and spec. My local dealer did a print out of the options from the "EVA" system and all looks ok apart from option 537 "Digital Radio DAB" which I can find no sign of on the car or in the manual.

Can anyone shed any light on what this is?

Means originally the vehicle would have been fitted with a digital receiver "black box " feeding into your vehicle ICE unit NAV50--525/Command--512 with some form of multimedia interface--518. There should be an option to select this as an input in the display menu system. It may of course have been removed at some time in the past.

Not sure but somewhere in the glovebox/ behind dashboard area- but I'm guessing

If you have DAB it will appear in the source selection.

The tuner is in the boot on the left hand side.

As NPUK says you should be able to select DAB in the frequency menu.

Looks like it may have been removed. No sign of anything in there.

This going to be more of a problem as these modular/ hidden ICE/Sat Nav systems become more prevalent--- The Becker map pilot seems a prime candidate for going astray- guess everyone will have to check that the factory fitted options are all still there in any second hand car they buy. At least the factory fit wiring should be in place- hopefully .

Try looking under the boot carpet at the back of the boot. ie right behind the rear seat back rest.
