Outside temp sensor

Can anyone help?

I have a 2001 CLK convertible & i'm trying to locate the outside temp sensor & wiring as my reading is -38c

my sec does that, havent looked at it yet but the sensor is usually located under the bumper in the lower vents..

What does it look like? is it a black plastic object abot 2-3 inches long coming to a point.Not sure where it's final place of rest should be.

yes, but its more rounded at the tip, not a point IIRC...

Thats exactly what it looks like.Where is it fixed to?does it protrude through the vent or is it on a bracket of sum sort.Any idea the cost of a new one?
