could a 7k overdue oil change cause my w203 facelift to go into limp mode.

Not if my CLK 320 is anything to go by, I bought it with 189k on the clock showing 17,400 miles overdue! Not very good but it seems to have taken no hurt from the experience, the motor is very sweet at 192k.

i can trump that, i bought a sprinter 41k overdue.

My C43 took 27000 kms before asking for an oil change. Drives perfectly, but I never use it on any short runs, so always get up to optimal driving conditions. Also use Mobil1 exclusively.

My Jeep Wrangler had one on average every 600 miles (that's how quickly it all leaked or burnt off!)

On the other end of the scale, my W202 C200 (mk1) was 20000 miles overdue when I got it and I drove it another 15000 before I got it serviced - made no tangible difference but I did 'supervise' and everything in the service schedule had been done properly.

Just because the Service Indicator say's otherwise doesn't mean it's not been done.

A lot of small Indies/One-man-bands can't/don't reset service indicators.

By the same token, just because it has been reset it doesn't mean it has been serviced.

no offence but for me that means they got no idea what they are doing
