Hey guys great site,
Can you please help me i have a 2000'W' C200 and its in need of the front and back pads changing, howver i have been told by a mechanic friend that i may need to take it to a main dealer due to brake assist or something. I would rather do it myself but He said that i could damage something!
Cheers Sab

Hi Sab
Just had a look at the Hanyes manual and it is a 2 spanner job so that equates to it being quite easy however you will loose 3 fingers and ruin a pair of trousers doing it ;) .
To be serious it does not look any different to doing the pads on any other car.
Grab the Hanyes manual for £15 and take a look.

so nothing has to be plugged into the the computer at a Merc garage?

Nope
No mention of that at all.
Just unplug the sensor, change the pads and the plug it back in!

Easy DIY job, just make sure to use new caliper bolts or use threadlock on the old ones. The hardest part on these is the rear handbrake shoes.

Thanks gonna give em a go on Tuesday!
