Pagid vs Mixtex - Whats Batter?

Euro Car Parts apparently own the Pagid name or something similar.

Apparently Pagid are owned by TMD Friction (who also own Textar and Mintex) but i would like still to know whether the Discs and Pads are made in china or not.

Absolute nightmare today to know who owns what, where its made, where its assembled, who packs it, who rebadges it, and god only knows what else......

Well i would actually like to know honestly where Pagid parts are made. I was told about the boxing up of parts at the docks some years ago by i think someone at a parts factors. T.

I once went to buy a mobile phone from Orange, but the guy in the Vodafone store told me their phones were fakes:dk:

(ps, the above story is totally false, and I am not accusing vodafone of slander, nor of Orange of selling fake phones)

EuroCarParts own the Pagid brand in the UK meaning we are the sole distributor of Pagid products. This means that we wouldn't need to box items up, in the middle of the night, at some dark and dismal docks :)

TMD have various manufacturing plants across the globe where their parts are manufactured, I don't know the ins and outs of their operation sorry.

@NPUK - the main reason we done Pagid vs Mintex is that people were being told that Mintex is the same quality, however Mintex have no OE applications. Textar vs pagid would be fun to do, as I guess they would almost always be different (where Textar are OR or where Pagid are OE) however what if we choose a set where neither are?

Hopefully, this makes it clear, that the Pagid pads are or a higher quality than the Mintex products,
Far from it, as there is no independent testing of the friction material.
and if you want a genuine, Original Equipment Quality Pad, then Pagid is the best choice! (in our opinion :) )

Oddly, enough, because you sell these, not Mintex.

This isn't to say I don't agree that Mintex MIGHT be poor pads (I once fitted some to Mrs DM's car and the stopping power was rubbish), but there was nothing technically wrong with the pads, just the friction material didn't have enough grab.

For my Landy, I used to get the shoes relined for £4 a set. Worked perfectly well.

Not much objectivity with regards brakes then?

No, no, no - Mintex are not poor quality (you can't really get poor quality branded pads due to the specs required nowadays ) we just want to outline the difference between an OE quality pad, and the Mintex equivalent. Our Eicher ones are the same, lower price, not OE but still perfectly good if you're price conscious.

I'll have quite a nice article in a few weeks for everybody, and I'm sure many of you will enjoy it.

Hi Tony,

You may have tried during our sale over the weekend (and the end of the month) - During this time all codes are suspended.

The codes are back up and running (MBCLUB30 gives 30% off brakes)

That was probably it - system won't let me 'thank', so I'll do it this way!

Hey, we don't make people buy them, we still stock Eicher, ATE, Textar, Textar Epads and now Bosch brakes.

But, don't take my word for it, take our customers :)

You'll have to forgive forum-folk. For the most part they're sheep who follow whatever some random 'expert' posts on the internet :doh:.

I ran Mintex C-Tech on my Aston and they were the best pads I've ever used. That said I've also fitted standard Mintex products to a Porsche and they weren't a patch on the original fitment. Non-OEM Pagid are still good quality in my experience.

PCS like most specialists use ECP. Hard to think where they'd be without them to be honest .

Which MB specialists are you referring to that don't have a ECP account?
