Hi
Just had some rubbish off the M1 motorway hit the front wing of my E55 yeaterday. You can imagine how I felt! Didn't even sleep last night it's cheesed me off so much. The car was totally unmarked before this. Must have been something made of rubber and metal as it left a rubber mark and has dented and chipped the paint.
Bearing in mind I am in Ashby near Leicester off the M42 does anyone know of a damn good body shop or paint and dent man they would recommend. The cars obsidian black which I have been told is easier to match than some, but I won't be happy unless it's perfect again.
Appreciate any help or suggestions
Cheers
Glyn

You need to have any paintwork done by an MB authorised repairer to maintain the corrosion warranty.
Go to the dealer, they will do a good job as cheap as anywhere else.

Beware! Some MB dealers use outside body shops. I had some terrible work done by body shop used by MB Watford.
Faults included:- poor colour match, over sprayon glass & rubber trims, spray over rust, specs/dust in paint (or lacquer), damage to other panels.

I had probs using a MB Dealer paint shop. Car was poorly finished as well, with a poor colour match.

But i agree with Dieselman for the corrosion warranty, it needs to go to MB for it.

Cheap! You must be joking! While my car was having some rust removed i asked them to paint the bonnet and bumper. Was quoted £1000! Had it done at my local bodyshop whose work is much better at a more reasonable £380.

Thanks chaps
I'll get a quote of the local strealer
Already spoke to one body work chap who said it shouldn't be a problem and guarateed I wouldn't be able to see where the repair was.
Also have the option of doing nothing as I have touch in the chipped paint and managed to do a decent job of getting most of the scratch out. But as always I know it's there and it bothers me!
Only had the car a week too when it happened!
Have to say though what a motor, incredible performance and silky smooth. Smile gets bigger every time I press the start button!
:D

With where you live, it would be worth your while going to both MB Derby and MB Tamworth to find out which body shops they use and then getting quotes from both.

Thanks Peter
I think I'll give that a go.
Normally use Tamworth for servicing so I'll drop in an have a word
