2017 C Class AMG spec Convertible
Hi,first post and new to Mercedes.

I have a 2017 C Class AMG spec convertible.
I only recently discovered it has park assist, but I can not get it to work.
When I drive past a space I can see the little white arrow appear next to the blue P and a image on my display shows my car will fit. But that is all that happens, I dont get the menu allowing me to use the self parking feature.

Am I doing something wrong ?

Thanks for the reply.
I watched that video a few nights ago.
My problem is, after the white arrow appears next to the blue P Im not getting any prompts and as soon as I put the car into reverse, the white arrow disappears and I have to park manually.

I have checked my vin number in a vin decoder and my car does have the active park assist.

Quick update.

After driving round a car park for around 20 to 30 mins looking incredibly suspicious and no doubt stupid, I finally got the park assist to work.
But only once ?

Ha! I did exactly the same some time ago. Decided that it was less hassle just parking it myself. My current 2010 A207 has an even more basic version which just points out that there is a parking space right outside the window that you can see. My wife flat refuses to believe that is all it does and thinks I’m hiding some amazing trickery from her. Suppose the manufacturers have to develop all this autonomous stuff incrementally but it does make you wonder sometimes.

I have it too, but only use it occasionally to frighten my son. I have noticed that you have to go perhaps 4 feet further past the space than you probably would if you were parking manually. Otherwise mine works every time providing the space is big enough and the white arrow is next to the P. Parks tighter to the kerb than me but so far has never touched an alloy but I'd rather not have the stress.. I beieve it needs a kerb as well so a country grass verge with no kerb may not work.

Surely my video is clear on what you need to do :D

Find a fairly empty street and test it on a random car which is parked alone.
