All,

Wasn't sure if this fell into interior or brakes, so took a chance and posted in here.

My parking brake pedal is no longer turning off the dash warning on release unless I put my foot under it and pull it up before letting go of the release handle. Is this an easy thing to adjust? The brakes are working fine so it is just the release of the pedal.

Thanks
Simon

Lift the rear seat and the metal cover in the middle of the floor. You will find that the handbrake compensator has seized up or one of the cables has jumped out.(Or both) Slacken the 13mm nut off and lubricate it. work it back and forward with the pedal until its free the re adjust it. If the cable has come out then refit it and plastic grommets are avalible from your dealer that fit in the holes

Thanks. Sounds like a big job - taking out the seat and floor cover, etc?

no it's really easy, just remouve the back seat (a couple of nut on my sedan) you'll see a small hatch in the middle: other nuts to dismount and you'll see the cable

Hi All is this the same for estates like a 2002 C270 cdi
