Parking pilot...

Hi,

I have recently purchased an E63 AMG (2017) - it comes with remote parking assistant - but the Mercedes parking app on my phone seatches for a vehicle but doesn’t find the car?

The only option I can see in the car is COMAND touch app connection...but that appears not to connect the parking app on my phone...


I’ve registered on 2020 “Mercedes Me” and can see my car status etc.
I activated all things within “Mercedes Me”
I downloaded the parking pilot app
i tried to follow the instructions but under vehicle there is not the option they suggest
i have connected to the car WiFi and left Bluetooth on

Any ideas?

Unpair the the phone from the car before you try to connect remote parking.

From memory its vehicle/assistance/remote parking assist/add new device on the car, then when it tells to search, or similar wording, use the app and choose authorise vehicle.
Something along those lines anyway from memory

Also check the notes regarding the remote parking app updates - especially if you're using an Android phone.

Oh, make sure Remote Parking Assist is enabled ok in "Mercedes Me" setting

thanks - I’ve managed to get the phone to pair with the remote parking app now, but when I press the camera button on the centre console, put the car in park and leave the vehicle...I fire up the app and nothing happens

Pass, I've never tried to get it to actually remote park itself, only moved it forward out of a space if some inconsiderate asshole has parked too close to me.

That’s all I want it to do tbh - just so I can reverse it out the garage using my phone.

It says my phone is connected, but on the app it doesn’t show my car - it just has 5 screens with an overview of how to use...no car picture (but on settings I can see the car is on there as MB PARK)...

I'm android also its grand, Samsung Galaxy S10+, Android Version 10.
Are you bang up to date with the parking app version?

So if you've previously paired with MB park. then do this.
Just park the car normally, no need to press camera buttons.

Open the parking app, go close to the car and pres the unlock button on the key fob.
Your car should appear and you then select the vehicle on the phone.
Next, two options appear, i think its quit and connect, but connect will be greyed out for a couple of seconds.

I just went and tried it there.
Now first time I unlocked the car the car picture didn't appear, so I just locked it and unlocked it again, then it worked ok.

I have it working with my wifes iPhone too, think its a 7, but can't remember.

When you go into the vehicle/assistance/parking option in the car, can you see your phone displayed and a wee picture of a phone with a tick beside it?

Thanks mate. Tried the approach suggested but no luck - to confirm on the car display it shows a little phone in amber/gold with a tick against it. These are the only screens I can see on the app when I tried the approach suggested - ive clicked on rename car to illustrate that it is authorised...

Which phone have you got?
On the first screen you show, the one that says your experience begins.
With that open, unlock the car using the fob and the car should show up. If it doesn't, lock it and try unlock again

The phone screenshots are from a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and I also tried it on an iPhone 7 Plus.

On both occasions the app was on that screen and unlocking/locking etc. didn’t change the display

Very weird.
The app says for samsung, it doesn't work with android 8.
Are you using latest parking app ok?

Wife's iPhone is an XR.

I don't know what else to try.
When does mercedes me say your remote parking expires?

September 2020 - my Android is 6.0.1...

I’ll give customer services a call tomorrow and will post back what they say!

No problem, definitely get android upgraded, I dont think it will want to play with that version.
iPhone should be dead on though. Is it still paired with MB park?

You say the car is 2017, just double check that the service is still within date in the Mercedes me portal, it'll only last for 3 years initially.

yes still paired...

My car was registered Sept 2017, so hopefully still ok?

I had a look in the Mercedes me portal and it is showing as active...
