Hi mate, phoned up merc customer services and they asked me to effectively start from scratch again, so deauthorise phone, uninstall app.

Did all that and now can see the car when I unlock - so I choose the vehicle, i then get a warning about bring 3 meters away or something and then when I click ‘continue’ (it takes time to come up) I just get the abort screens, ?

Maddening!

Thats excellent then, just wait a bit, continue will.become enabled, it takes a number of seconds.

Edit: forget that, sorry my mistake I didntbread it properly.
I've never had that happen. Once I choose continue then it goes to the next stage where you pick a direction and can start the car

Thanks, I select “continue” once it pops up after a few seconds, but then I get the “abort” screen? Will keep playing with it and have drop merc customer services a line too!

Is it any different with the iPhone you have access to?

no difference mate - MB customer services tech team are looking into it - see what they say :(

So after much chasing and explaining, looks like the tech support team are saying go to a dealer!!!

This is the message I received from them:-

Dear Mr *******

well, I have received a feedback from our specialist team and unfortunately we are unable to fix the issue from the server itself. It seems that the cables need to be rechecked by someone in the workshop.

If you wish, I can contact your preferred workshop and provide them with the information about what has to be done. Please send me some details of the workshop, if you wish so.

Many thanks for your understanding and have a good day!

At least they replied and it seems that they have ran out of ideas in fairness.
I had a problem getting remote parking to pair with my car, it was paired on the old version, but I assume an update of the app bust something.
It took them several attempts over the space of a month, but they did get it sorted.

You're car is under warranty still, so let them contact your dealer and let them sort it out and then you can try the connection again in front of the dealer.

Thanks - plan is to hang in there and get it sorted ! Will post a final outcome on here in case it helps anyone in the future :)

Just tried on my E400d Dec 18 reg - same issue as Mike Tyson.

I’ve registered on 2020 “Mercedes Me” and can see my car status etc. Agreed
I activated all things within “Mercedes Me” (32 out of 33)
I downloaded the parking pilot app (it shows as Parking on app icon).
i tried to follow the instructions but under vehicle there is not the option they suggest - exactly the same
i have connected to the car WiFi and left Bluetooth on - (except I haven't connected to car wi fi (it does not tell me anywhere)

From memory the option is under Assistance, then remote parking assistance and then within there is an option to connect your phone...

you only need to connect Bluetooth too, ignore wifi

...going to the dealer next Thursday (9th) so see what happens...

1. Remove and ignore "MB Park" at Phone Settings -> Bluetooth -> press the small i next to "MB Park" and confirm in next Screen
2. In Command please select driver & assistance Systems -> Camera & park-Pilot -> remote park-Pilot -> "your phone" -> and de-authorise the phone by selecting it. Confirm in next Screen
3. Open the RPP APP select "Settings" (top right Corner) -> remove vehicle -> "Your vehicle" -> confirm in next Screen Start a new authorisation at Command by selecting "Authorise new device" and "add new vehicle" on the APP.

Don't use the Bluetooth Settings of the Smartphone for the re-connection!

HINT: If you are using a smart watch or Fitness tracker please deactivate this device for Pairing process.

The key is definitely not having bluetooth connected on the phone before you try to pair with the remote parking app.
Are you Android or iPhone?
I've had both working with my car, my phone is Android version 10, wife's is an iPhone XR

Shaun,
Many thanks - had just been sent this info from (another) helpful chap at Mercedes me in the Netherlands and got it working.

However, I think I was standing too close to the front (was trying to reverse out of a narrow garage having driven it in).
Car started and warned of closeness but never moved - will try outside tomorrow.
Also probably a better idea to put it in first and then reverse out straight.

I have a one and a half inch step into our garages - do you line it up first i.e. wondering could that step cause the steering alignment to change when it bumps up it?

Regards

G

Before I spoke with M Me in the Netherlands I went on to MB chat (Georgia) who stated after 10 minutes and I quote
Unfortunately this is not currently available to use on the Mercedes me app within the UK as this function does not abide by the regulation regarding remotely controlling a vehicle. Essentially within the UK at the moment, it is not lawful to control a vehicle without being in the car itself, and abiding by the laws surrounding using a mobile phone whilst in control of a motor vehicle.

When I pointed out members on a MB forum in the UK were telling me they had it working then she suggested I contact Mercedes me.

Seriously impressed with the Mercedes me team though (and you, of course, ShaunB)

I'll be honest, I've mosty only used it to show off, except once, when some idiot parked too close to the drivers door and I couldn't get in without a struggle.

My previous S211 could be driven into the garage with the wing mirrors opened and still have 4" each side.

The new electric garage doors had to be mounted "within" the openings not "behind" so lost 3" each side.

So now down to ¼" each side - hence interest in the Remote Parking app.
