Where can I buy those nets located at the front passenger foot well? And can I DIY anchor points for the hooks? Is it worth it if it means drilling? What about nets/hooks in the boot for securing objects etc? Believe only came with the 1997+ models.

sorry to couldn't better help you (I'm searching the link I found times ago), at least you can ask to the Stealership.

I bought a net with the plugs (5 if I'm not wrong) and installed an additional one on the driver side tunnel.

It's really usefull, not difficoult to install but be prepared to damage a bit your finger (I suggest to remove part of the covering in way of).

at dealer please better check also the net colour you need

This is mine, I got it from the stealers (around £12 IIRC)

Easy to fit, you need to pull out the carpet & screw the net too that.

(the one I was supplied with is larger than the w202 facelift orignal)

They were always an accessory, available only in black and slightly larger than the 1997+ optional ones.

I have supplied part numbers for the optional ones in beige to another member, I will see if I can find them again :)

Total cost was about a tenner I think, you need the elasticated net and the clips/clamps.

EDIT:

also see: http://mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=6337

2nd EDIT:

I made it sound like they were only available in black or beige ;) they can be bought in whatever interior colour you want BUT I need interior trim code or VIN, simply saying "grey" etc does not really help as there are several variations.

Hi, I'm getting confused ... is the factory installed one available to buy or not? My interior is black leather so carpets all black. Is the bigger one killerhetz finally installed really meant for the boot - is it really big enough for the boot? Cos I want one there too but the footwell is the one I want most as boot perhaps we could just fashion some anchor points there - anyone done similar? Key thing is, when anchoring/drilling, is this going into metal? I havent stripped the carpet from under the centre console before and to be honest a bit worried  Its all very original and v good condition in that area at the moment ... but the net is going to be v useful addition.

not sure, i think its plastic under the carpet....

try screwing in a very thin wood screw.... the fibres of the carpet does a good job disguising any hole left if the addition was ever removed.

The one I purchased had 3 diagrams, 1st being the Footwell. Plus installation instructions.

I prefer it than the standard one, because it is large enough for a magazine to fit into.

You basicalled just have to pull out the carpet

I confirm carpet is made of a sort of plastic material.

As I said, I've installed a net in the driver side (same position to the net I've already in the passenger side, because factory equipped on elegance model), it's easy as kind of work, it's mainly hard to push the plastic clip provided with the net into the carpet.

Hi

If anyone needs the part numbers for the factory-installed item let me know, I will look it up and detail all the colour codes etc.

I will not be doing this! I looked last night and it's a nightmare so anyone wanting the parts can PM their VIN to me and I'll look up the correct trim codes etc, it's a matrix of about 100 numbers, none of which make any sense and the EPC chooses the correct one according to model year and trim code for a perfect colour match.
