Performance exhaust backbox

Hi

I'm want to improve the look and sound of my 1999 sl 320 exhaust. I just want to replace the back box. Does anyone have any ideas where I can buy one in the Uk for a reasonable price?

A number of them have references to UK suppliers. Some will be stupidly expensive, but others are less so.

Do you genuinely want to replace the backbox or would a tailpipe trim be ok? There are a few oem options for this.

To 'improve' the sound you'll need a new box not just pipe trim - there are plenty of stainless steel fabricators that will make you one to specification and 'tailor' the sound for you - or you can buy aftermarkets rear boxes from Remus, Eisenmann etc that are invariably more expensive and usually for the R129 require the rear bumper to be cut or a new apron added. I had a quote from Hayward & Scott for £350 for my SL500 but they wanted the car for 2 days.
