Hi All,

I'm looking to lease a C350 CDI, AMG Sport Plus with COMAND & Metallic Paint, 3 +35, 15k miles/pa. I'm getting quotes of around £480/month is this a fair price compared to any deals people on here have got?

Cheers,

Cheers Gents. Got it down to £477 inc vat 3+35. Going to place an order on Monday - just can't decide on Tenorite Grey, Obsidian Black or Iridium Silver! :-/

Tenorite Grey is a great colour. So much easier to maintain than black, doesn't show every little mark but still looks great.

Moonie that is a great deal, where you getting that from? and is it inlcuding VAT?

I got offered £433 (including vat) for a c200 sport plus, black (non metallic) + service maintainence 12k mileage. 3+35

When you gets cars on these contracts do you have to tax, service and insure the car your self?

tax is inluded, service it depends, sometimes you can get a maintenance option but its not alway feasable (adds roughly £50) and yes you have to insure the car yourself.

I got quotes off lease companies listing cars on contracthireandleasing - mainly pantheon, vehiclesavers, ling cars and kgr? all came in around £475 - £485 inc vat for the 3+35 C350 Sport Plus, Met, Command and 15k m/pa. I went with a 3+23 for £489 (inclusive of vat) in the end!

Comand kills lease costs, you pay in full for the unit over the lease lifetime - circa £60 a month on a 3+35 deal.

Rules when looking at Personal lease deals:-

1. Keep off the options list.
2. See rule 1.

If you want load a car up with gubbins and gadgets and you're financing PCP can often be a better deal as you'll get a residual value on the expensive options such as COMAND and Pano roof etc.

You say that, but adding Comand (£2k option) only cost me a £1000 extra on a 3+23 deal, although other options came out at their full price.

Certainly worth looking if you can get a service package thrown in as on lease deals the £50 or so a month it costs tends to extend to brakes and tyres.

On my previous lease where I had this I could not work out (looking purely at the cost of tyres alone) how they could ever hope to turn a profit on that deal

PS

Keep off the options list

If it worked OK for you then that's fine, but one of the significant reasons I opted out of company lease cars was due to hassle over tyres. They won't change them until 2mm, they'll change individual tyres if one is 2mm and the other measures 2.5mm and they fit what I would consider to be non-premium brand tyres (last lease company we used always fitted Firestone's where possible). The company used to get surcharged for tyres that lasted less than 30K miles.

My daughter had a SEAT with full maint from VAG and they fitted a pair of Conti eco tyres to replace Dunlop Sport's (even Conti say you shouldn't do that) and said if we didn't like it we could buy our own tyres.

I figured that out pretty quick with the options list, so am going for a

C250 amg sport plus
Automatic
Metallic black
3+35 months
12k mileage
£387 including vat.

I am not fussed a out command, but if I consider getting a sat nav I can buy the Becker module for 150ish off eBay and sell it when I get rid of the car.

Who was that with please.;)

Has anyone ordered a C-class on personal lease recently at all?

I tried to order a new sport plus through a leasing company and was rejected by Merc finance. I have a top credit rating, no debt and a decent paying job so have absolutely no idea why I was rejected. Trying to get in touch with Merc underwriters has proved to be impossible so the guy dealing with my order from the leasing company has launched an appeal on my behalf and reckons I have a good case. Only thing is, it's now been around 2 and a half weeks and I still haven't had any news to my appeal, can anyone shed any light on this?

Can't shed any light on your case, MB finance wouldn't accept me despite good and clean credit record, more than sufficient income. They accepted my wife's application even though she wasn't employed.

Go figure?? I'm totally bemused.

Have you checked your credit rating recently? I applied for finance and was rejected ( was expecting no problems). When I checked, my previous finance company for the PCP had not updated their records properly, and although I had returned the car at the end of the term correctly they recorded that I had defaulted on two subsequent payments (which were not due as the credit agreement had reached its natural end.)

It was completely their error, but it had screwed my credit rating to the point that my credit card provider wrote to me reducing my credit limit so low that it became worthless ,as well as the refusal of the new credit agreement I was trying to enter.

It took some work on my part to then contact my previous finance company and tell them of their error, and then ask them to let the credit scoring companies know that there had been a mistake made

All sorted in the end - but at the time major stress -

The only way I found the problem was to sign up to a free 30 day trial from one of the credit agencies

If you've ever been refused credit I would recommend you find out why - It might not be an issue now - but don't forget if you ever have to apply in the future for something - new credit card, mortgage, loan for home improvements, new TV spreading payments etc - you will probably be asked ' have you ever been refused credit or finance before?' . If your credit score has been reduced you really want to know why to check that everything is correct and no errors have been made

Even more worrying would be if someone else is using your identity to secure finance !!

I had a similar case. Tried to apply for a mortgage and for denied. When I looked at my credit rating I had 7 red marks against my name!!!

Vodafone said I hadn't paid a bill one month - completely untrue. BT said I hadn't paid a final bill on a house I was renting - completely untrue…......and the list went on.

Took me about 2 months of phone calls and letters to all the companies proving that they had made mistakes!

Check you credit rating with a free 30day trial. It seems that companies can completely screw up your life with no questions asked, but for us to clear our names, we actually new proof! Messed up system.

Cheers for the replies guys, I've checked my credit rating and I have a score of 999 - there were a couple of late payments for bills over 2 years ago but they were simply because I had to change bank accounts and the DD didn't go through. I signed up with Creditexpert and they said I have some of my father's details on my credit report (because we have similar names) but they would remove his details and that would rectify it.
