Hello,

A while ago, someone on here mentioned the name of a gadget that sprung out of the filler flap to remind you not to put petrol in a diesel car.

I can't find it, can anyone remember what they are called.?

Thanks

Richard

I have something that springs out of the car to remind you - my wife!!

I#ll sell her to you for a decent price.

Aren't the pump nozzles different sizes?

Colour, smell.......

Best not to smell petrol, it contains a lot of benzine.

Proper advice is to hold your breath whilst refilling.

Not enough to wreck your smell receptors ....

The safe level for benzine is..??

I wouldn't be worried about smell receptors..

My car has this HUGE red sticker which says DIESEL on it in big letters, that usually reminds me :) You must be able to get stickers like that I would imagine...

Is your car an Avis rental then..

My filler cap Is red and is marked diesel................

Hi
Apparently the new Mondeo has a gadget to stop that in the filler neck.

It's a shame the old ones haven't. :o:o:o

To answer the OP, try miss-filling at least once and shelling out £250 to get it fixed. That'll make you pay attention in the future.

OEL-UNITED KINGDOM:TWA 10 PPM (30 MG/M3) JAN 1993

Wasn't the WHO level 5 ppm..?
Apparently the level when filling a car can be as high as 1200 ppm...
