Petrol in a diesel - how to prevent?

Wasn't the WHO level 5 ppm..?
Apparently the level when filling a car can be as high as 1200 ppm...

True but over a very short time of exposure. The figures above are average for an 8hr exposure

Even then 10 x 8 is only 80mg. Filling the car is a concentrated dose equivelant to 120 hours industrial exposure at maximum levels.
Which level are we talking here, the UK allowable max or the WHO guideline max.?

Wasn't there some suggestion that filling station staff were suffering as a result of the exposure to benzine.?

Hello,

A while ago, someone on here mentioned the name of a gadget that sprung out of the filler flap to remind you not to put petrol in a diesel car.

I can't find it, can anyone remember what they are called.?

Thanks

Richard

Is filling a car a concentrated dose? Usually one is out in the open air.

UK max.

Don't American pump nozzles have a bellows affair to extract fumes at source?

Not sure of the answer but don't put water in there either :D
