Hi all.

Well its probably been done before, but i'm just about to fit Phillips X-treme vision bulbs to my dip beam on my CLK 2002 4.3. Hoping it will make a difference and life a little bit brighter.

Will report back;)

I fitted a pair of those bulbs, 1 failed after around 15 months, the other a month later, so the original bulbs are now back in the car, which are also Philips.
The x-treme were better.

The extremes are very good. I have them in the 124 and they make the lights reasonable - thats pretty impressive on a 124. So far no problems with longevity and the car runs all the time on dipped beams as in theory thats the rule in italy.

I put them in my R129 and our old Audi and they were a significant improvement. No issue with longevity.

The up rated h/lamps bulbs do indeed make a difference, I was a big fan and tried just about most brands including Philips, Osram, Ring & Halfords jobbies but sadly I've given them the elbow due to the short lifetime of 3-4 months using dips all the time andthe short bulb life was not just in Merc's either.
