Not sure how widely this is known....

I recently had a MB BT SAP system etro-fitted to my car, works great BUT...

My desk is only a few yards from where I park and the car would not release control over my mobile for 10min or more after I parked up.

Just read the COMAND handbook and there it states one can change this "run-on" time.

I created a contact entry on my mobile named "Run-on Time" and gave it a number of 1 (equating to time in minutes - values between 1 and 30)

Next time the phone sync'd with the car the entry appeared in the COMAND phonebook and now 1 minute after switching off my phone regains control :D :bannana:

I expect this works with any flavour phone set-up that use COMAND

Well, it was news to me... :o

This was an interesting observation. I know this from the old MB kits but the BT device manual does not mention this (did not check the car manual).

I don't have a problem as I always lose BT connection when leaving garage but I've seen elsewhere quite a few posts from owners who have the phone connected from home. It is quite odd that the phone does not disconnect automatically at a decent time once the car has been switched off and doors closed.

The BT device manual does tell about the TEL button disconnecting the connection when pressed for 3 seconds, but not on a W221, there it happens through the Comand menu which is not as simple. The manual also explains the Malbox speed dial, but I did not find this Run-on time.

The TEL button option doesn't work on the W203 either...

There was nothing in the BT SAP manual about run-on times
