Picked up the S2111 E500 today

After having spent five frustrating days moving home I finally got to pick up the E500 today.

I was impressed by;

- the 7G box (bangs up and down through the ratios like nobody's business)
- the air suspension/parameter steering/dynamic seats - (makes cornering more fun than it should be in car this size)
- the Harmon Kardon sound system (for a car system v impressive)

My wife (who had all of 5 mins to sit in it) was impressed by

- the genarally fine cabin plus the rear-facing kiddie seats as well as the built-in booster seats

My five yr old son was impressed by

- the electric tailgate and the TV

So a hit all round so far

Well I was hoping to grab the pics the dealer used to save some time but I missed the boat.

So don't hold yr breath - I'll have to take some pics, download them. re-size them (why do I find this so hard?) then upload them.

So for now just think of a silver pre-facelift S211 with black leather and 17 inch twin spokes.

Not literally banging - it's that the 7G box is mighty responsive when compared to the older 5 speed in my C43

Sounds cracking, it will have a fair turn of speed and being a 2005 the 388bhp engine??? Means not far off e55 amg power and comfortably quicker than your C43

Nope it's a Feb 2005 and therefore the 308bhp one. I think it weighs about 10% more than the C43 but then again has about 10% more torque.

It does feel quicker though and I think that's mainly down to the 7G box.

I'm happy with the grunt
