Shucks fellas, many thanks to everyone for all the kind words - glad I'm not going to be expelled from here by virtue of buying yet another BMW (although at least at the next meet, instead of having to park by the skip, my car can act AS the skip!!)
Guy - thanks buddy! Not surprised you went for the E55 (eventually!!) - it's a fantastic motor, and one that I strongly considered instead of the X5, however I wanted something a bit higher off the ground for putting a baby-seat in (due to become a father in March next year
), and after winter after winter of cursing RWD, fancied a 4WD for a change.
Take care of yourself, and happy motoring!
Richard - put my foot down twice, but not for too long!! Actually had it in the high 20's for a while, until traffic jams kicked in.....although after a bit of town driving today I can hold my head up in pride to be down at 20mpg, with further drops yet to come!! I managed to take a small number of pictures yesterday which I'll try and put up at the weekend, however reckon that was probably the last chance of it being clean before the summer! Will gladly take you for a spin at a meet sometime.....
Boot space isn't bad - isn't as long as a 5-series Tourer (the car is actually about 5 inches shorter), but reasonably tall, and a nice height to get stuff in and out (and you can sit on the tailgate bit when at the polo match, what-ho!)
Steve - nice idea, think I might get the BigFoot graphics for the side!
It's got air suspension, so you can lift the car up a bit to clear the bumper of any pesky vehicle thats a bit higher than normal!!
Scott - like your style!! p.s. Hope you're still enjoying your Crossfire!
Sym - no worries, us BMW drivers know how to take the abuse and keep smiling!!
