Since last night (i think because of the heavy winds,) the alarm on my SL500 (03plate) is constantly going off.
It must have happened 15-20 times in the last 15hrs and the neighbours must want to kill me.
I have keyless go and a key fob (no key.)
I have just now started leaving the car unlocked but assume it will lock itself and the alarm will start blaring again?

ANY advice will be much appreciated.

Isn't there a partial arm facility (turn off the ultrasonic and shock sensor) - there is on the E.

Should be a couple of buttons somewhere, the flash when you press them.

I've never had an alarm in the car (perhaps a good argument not revealing my home coordinates) but can't you lock the car with the metal key instead of the remote?

Edited: I missed the previous post while writing, partial alarm could well solve the issue too.

Just had a look, no luick finding anything that flashes, or buttons.

CLK 209 has these as well, button on dash showing a tow truck & hook?

With the R230 can the interior sensor can be controlled via the on-board computer? Not sure how it all works with keyless go. The following is from the latest model user guide - does it differ from your model?

To deactivate the interior motion sensor

To prevent a false alarm, deactivate the interior motion sensor if you lock your vehicle and
  • people remain in the vehicle
  • animals remain in the vehicle
  • the windows remain open.

flashes briefly.

Lock the vehicle using the key.

On vehicles with KEYLESS GO*, the locking button on the door handle/boot lid can also be used.

The interior motion sensor remains deactivated until the vehicle is unlocked and locked again

On one of my cars it was the bonnet switch that set the alarm off in windy weather. Dealer was able to tell by reading the alarm codes (this was a Vauxhall, rather than an M-B). I disconnected the switch in the end.

Unlikely to be the interior motion sensors, unless you've got something dangling from the rear view mirror (air freshener? furry dice? :D).

This COULD be the problem. When i got in the car today, the dash said malfunction, it told me to close the bonnet. I have not opened the bonnet.

I reckon BTB's on the money there, makes perfect sense IMHO.

Try closing all interior vents (thumbwheels) before leaving the car at night.

So this seems the likely cause and turning the interior motion sensor off will not help?

The alarm has gone off 4 times in the last half hour:confused:

Sounds about right. Lift bonnet. Drop bonnet. Rinse and repeat.

Well it wouldn't hurt to try the interior motion sensor, nothing to lose :)

Maybe try opening the bonnet and giving the switch a bit of a wiggle, could help you get a better night's sleep until you can get it looked at?

I also have a airfreshener in the car for the last week, now removed. Hope it works.
Will also try the bonnet trick if it goes off again.

The alarm has just gone off again, the first time for one hour and now again after three minutes.

Any more suggestions to stop it please?

Im at a loss now.

Have you tried disabling the interior sensor and wiggling the bonnet switch?

Have you tried parking it further away from your house.

You get a good sleep, your neighbours do. Happy days.

Seriously though with the keyless go is there no key at all such as a valet key? I know on a Z3 I had you could rather than use the remote lock the car using the key. We had to do this when transporting it back from Germany as it locks the car but deactivates the anti tilt etc.

I guess you have tried shuting the doors, checking the windows are up, roof sealed etc? It has been very windy lately could you shut the vents?
