Poland Trip

Hi all

It's that time of year again when we take a drive to Poland stopping at friends houses on the way down.

In total it should be 3000 miles round trip, that's 1200 each way and 600 going here and there. we go on the 1st of August and return on the 11th august,
my old 1998 C Class returned 37 miles per gallon with ac on all the way. My 2007 C Class will ac on 50% of the time averaged 49 mile per gallon, on both trips the speed was kept around 70MPH

So with the new 2012 E Class Blue EFFICIENCY thing and 7 speed box should be very interesting?? will post when I return and Diesel prises in the various countries

I hope on 60 Miles per gallon ???

Well got back two weeks ago and the mph was not that good, total mileage 2703 driving time 54:45 mpg 51.4 average speed 49mph , in the car was me and her plus the boot was full both ways. Your thoughts please.

The newer engines have DPFs which hammer the MPG compared to the older engines, the taller gearing helps and 51.4mpg isn't great using book figures, but it isn't bad either.

what size engine is it ?

Is it actually 2200 cc as the numbers on the boot lid have come to mean very little
in that respect ?

It's a2.2 diesel

I shall be doing this trip at Christmas - Marlborough to Gdansk and on to Warsaw and taking in a couple of Christmas markets in Germany on the way back. Always look forward to it. This year however I don't think I'll be able to match your mpg figures unfortunately.
